Yeah. All those Cubases and Studio Ones are in different league and though can do most of stuff ableton and bitwig do they are made for different purpose.Haha, yea, be mentally prepared for many more "+" devices![:hihi:]( "HiHi")
As long as they keep adding something like 5.2s "precision editing", i'm very happy! As long as One huge changelog point of each update is dedicated to such basic features, it's really awesome for me. Yes, it's a pity that the pace in which Bitwigs basic functionality is improving is so slow - but it would be far more demotivating, if they ONLY would focus on "adding xy-amount of sounddesign tools to play with, which already exist as 200 different third party VSTs"
My move from Ableton to Bitwig was far too great, and Ableton still doesn't offer what i missed back then - so for me, there isn't any alternative on the market right now (for live performance).
Before using Ableton, i used Cubase for many years. Thus, in comparison, Ableton 12s improvements didn't catch me at all. To me, Cubase is just lightyears ahead concerning Editing in all ways, and interface management (macros for specific editor-settings, quickly switchable via controller buttons... it's so fast and effective. None of that exists in Bitwig/Ableton).
I dont want the program that trough menu selection can build nuclear reactor and squarify circle. I need handful of solid QOL features across all the program.
I have used (by year): Fruity Loops/Coole Edit Pro, Reason, Cubase, Logic, Ableton, Studio One, Bitwig.
Yes, you are correct Bitwig adds QOL features like in last update. But if you look at the timeline of updates they so proudly advertised for 10 year anniversary you find that actually it was only handful of QOL improvement surrounded by sound design tool and plugins.
I'll probably keep the licence for Bitwig. But derank it from main worksatation.
