Top Three Ideas for Mulab
1) Enhanced Automation: Drawing and Curves
Everything from MIDI CCs to project tempo changes. I've been begging for this since forever and I don't think it's too much to ask for a feature which was available in 1994's Cubase for Atari. In addition to drawing automation curves I'd like an option to 'explode' all the parameters which get tweaked and saved during a performance into their own full automation track.
2) Hierarchical Tracks and Mixing ala Podium DAW
All I can say is Podium has a mixing workflow based on its busses and hierarchical object engine which is the most intuitive among any DAW I've tried.
3) More Modules
For me, the modular paradigm is the direction Mulab should keep as its primary goal. I know it's difficult to be all things to all people and to have a proper modular AND DAW environment is highly problematic. Back in the day not long after Muzys was cancelled, I picked up energyXT - it was a bit like Mulab in that it had both modular and DAW sections. As the project grew Jorgen turned it into more of a DAW environment instead of turning it into the Bidule/Audio Mulch killer I had hoped for. Mulab is that killer app I had wanted so long ago. Fl Studio has its Patcher, Abelton has Max and Bitwig has The Grid but I think Mulab's modular environment has them all beat. I'd like to see some modules geared torwards live & experimental uses such as AudioMulch's Metasurface and more probability options. I hope that the modular component forever remains at the forefront as I use complex MUXs in every Mulab project and even inside of Fl Studio for that matter.
