Getting Started (AKA What is the best...?) • Re: Looking for a freeware drum synth VST as alternative to microtonic

Have an older MacBook (intel) still fully functional, want to repurpose it for a minimal, budget conscious workstation.

Already found quite a few nice freebies on here!

However can’t find an alternative to microtonic, drum samplers yes, but no free drum synth VST’s.

Any ideas

If you have reaktor , try my ensemble clone tonic
It's basically microtonic without the sequencer + additive osc , comb filtering and a few more distortion curves .
And , it's only six parts instead of 8
There is a also a separate version for playing drumparts chromatically
