I only go to the club on latin peak minimal bass techno house with UK drill vocals 6/4 time signature night. Anything else is literally un-danceable.
It seems like old boy wants a starting place. Everyone starts somewhere. So yeah, they might not know exactly what they want. No reason to harsh them and try to shame them into some hyper conformist label mold. Like you said, it's a fake mold anyway with music makers just using different names because they have to conform.
