That's awfully funny, as I know first-hand this was different a few years ago. A seller that wanted to trade me Komplete 9 Ultimate automatically and unwillingly had to transfer the base Komplete 8 license, because he bought K9U as an upgrade. NI's FAQ for trading/selling also explained it that way. I stand corrected then, as they must have changed it at some point! Good to know, and sorry to bother you.Not correct in my experience. You need the base version to use the upgrade, but the base version can be 1st hand or second hand or whatever. 2nd hand upgrades do work great (and are one of the greatest things in Native Instruments ecosystem). When you bought a previous version of Komplete and upgrade to a newer version of Komplete, you cannot sell one without the other. Meaning, you cannot buy a Komplete upgrade second hand, as the seller would always have to transfer the base version he upgraded from, they are locked. So your only chance is someone who bought, but did not redeem the upgrade.
Perhaps there are especial restrictions with certain licenses, but in general it is possible to sell base versions and upgrades separately.
