By the way, the original concept is interesting: if there are modular instruments, then why not have a modular DAW built on the same foundational concept? It's remarkable that it has come this far, as it was originally designed to meet niche needs. Its luck was that it could fulfill demands that were missing from Ableton Live at the time, which helped it establish a core user base—one that has essentially stayed at the same size ever since.
Anyway, my original stance still holds: they should push in two directions—first, by integrating the most frequently requested features from Bitwish, and second, by incorporating and gradually expanding the Grid to function more comprehensively as a full DAW, even before its release, I’m still hopeful that the fundamental component rewrites weren’t done just for their own sake but were a prerequisite for further developments.
