I think 77 sounds lovely and the UI is an upgrade for me from other CS-80 emulations. ...but I can understand if it's a miss for others; the CS-80 is a strange beast.
I'm also going to disagree on Roland having the best emulations of their own synths. I think the Softube versions sound much more "authentic" and "alive," though that is (of course) hard to quantify. The Juno-106 in particular, when A/B'ed with Roland's VST, is far and away a better version. The SH-101 is also, IMO, superior, though it's less immediately obvious. THAT SAID: i do actually think Roland's Juno-60 and Jupiter-4 are pretty solid emulations. ...Not sure why those two stand out.
I'd love to see Softube do the SH-2, but that'll never happen. ...and and SH-5 would be nice to see an emulation of (if there is one, I am not aware of it). I doubt Softube cares to try the JP-8080, since their forte seems to be analogue emulation. ...but I'd be delighted if they did it.
...For similar reasons, I would be *deeply* surprised if they did an Ensoniq emulation.
I expect the Jupiter 8 or ARP Odyssey will be their next target, as they seem to go for the "most popular" synths first. I would buy them. I wouldn't be super excited about either of these, but IMO Softube is just good enough in general that I wouldn't pass.
