While I can see his points, and doubtless there are those who will perceive it as advantageous for themselves and others, it does smack of this:The Dev just replied to the concerns of the users:
I paid like $30 (?) for the "Mutable Instruments" releases option when VCV first came out, but quickly lost interest in the program, and much prefer to use Reaktor, and/or Voltage Modular. The latter will 'host' Reaktor as a Vst.The way they describe it is allowing for a paid demo.
No ill will meant, but $30 a month, seems excessive (IMHO), though as a one shot to try any/all of what's offered it might be justifiable for many, particularly if there are some cool presets/configurations that are desirable for a specific application.
A "rent to own" option, makes way more sense to me. But then:
I just won't subscribe to software, personally.
